This weekend, the Great Smoky Mountains will offer a series of events and activities surrounding the celebration of Labor Day, which takes place on Monday, September 1, 2014. Holidays are a very special time for the Smokies, and in our area, there is always a wide range of activities people to be able to take part in, whether it is enjoying the many attractions of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and the surrounding areas, or enjoying the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.
In Pigeon Forge this weekend, you have at least a couple of different opportunities to get in on the Labor Day fun and festivities. The Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge will be having its Kickin’ Chicken 5K Run & Fun Walk, on Saturday, August 30, 2014, starting at 8:00 AM. All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center for the 4th Judicial District of the State of Tennessee. Also, for those car enthusiasts among you, The Diner in Sevierville will having a “Back to School Cruise In” starting at noon on Saturday, August 30, 2014, and will feature many great cars, prizes, and much more for the whole family. In addition, the Sevier County Fair will be kicking off this Monday, on Labor Day, September 1, 2014, at the Sevier County Fairgrounds in Sevierville. This fair typically features many rides, prizes, contests, and much more, and will be open through September 6th, which is next Saturday.
