Readers of my blogs may pick up on repeating themes.  The idea that great weather triggers a quantum leap in human activities is a common thread in many of my blogs.  In recent weeks, the grand awakening from winter’s imposed hibernation has exploded across East Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains.  This wake up call is echoed on all levels of existence.  The sunny weather combined with summer-like temperatures, have amplified the beauty of spring flowers and blooming trees. Maybe the length of the cold, gray winter has enhanced their attraction, but the springtime display of color seems more spectacular than usual.  I wrote earlier about how the real estate market had been adversely impacted by the long, chilly winter.  However, in this area, that is no longer true.  My team and I are seeing a new wave of buyers looking for Smokies’ real estate.  If you have entertained the idea of buying property in this area, seize the opportunity.  Property selection is great.  Mortgage interest rates might never be lower, and there are still tax incentives open through the end of the month.  

 On top of that, there is a multitude of local activities taking place.  Gatlinburg hosts the 60th Annual Wild Flower Pilgrimage combined with a Greener Living Expo from April 21 to 25th.  This is a great time to hike and tap into the expertise of leading botanical experts.  Pigeon Forge started their Springfest 2010 on March 15th and it runs through June 5th.  Car shows, quiltfests and great food draw crowds of people.  Later in Mid-May, Gatlinburg will host it’s Scottish Festival and Highland Games.  Get on the local websites and plan a trip to synchronize with your personal interests.  You can also coordinate a real estate search online that allows you to select the finalists for a face to face viewing when you are in the area.  Contact us to get started today.
